Thank you so much for your prayers—we truly felt them throughout this full year of travels. We know they were answered!

Blessings Across Every Mile
Our recent trip to Bolivia (July–October) was one of our most pleasant and purposeful. We traveled more than 2,400 miles within the country—plus many more in taxis and private vehicles. Every mile brought meaningful opportunities to teach, mentor, reconnect, and celebrate. This is what we do: visit, minister, make friends, encourage, celebrate, and build community—all for God’s glory.
We’re also grateful for the many ministry opportunities across North America this year. The Lord kept us safe through thousands of miles—from Florida to the West Coast, across Northwest Mexico, and many stops in between—allowing us to share in conferences, local fellowships, and spend valuable time with family.

Family, Fellowship & Ministry
A highlight was visiting Linda’s family—her brother Arturo & Marizol, and her sister Ana & Carlos. Since visits are every 7–8 years, this was precious. Both Arturo and Carlos serve as church leaders, which led to meaningful conversations about balancing ministry with family.
We reflected with pastors, elders, and missionaries on biblical examples such as Eli, Samuel, and David—faithful in ministry yet sometimes struggling at home. Strengthening marriage, family, and church relationships was a recurring theme and prayer throughout our trip. Even casual meals often became deep spiritual conversations—just as we pray they will.

A Country in Crisis, a Church in Hope
Leon first visited Bolivia 43 years ago—where he met Linda and fell in love with both her and the Bolivian people. This time, the country seemed weighed down by shortages, unemployment, and discouraging political fallout. Yet the believers remain joyful and hopeful—their faith shining brightest in hardship. What a privilege to encourage them and be encouraged by them.

Celebrating 40 Years of Marriage & Mission
This visit was especially meaningful as we celebrated our 40th anniversary by returning to Camiri—where we met and were married—was deeply moving. Reconnecting with old friends, sharing new ones, and remembering God’s faithfulness through our lives, family, and 26 years of ministry in Mexico reminded us: God has done great things—and continues to do so.

Ministry Continues — Stateside
After returning, we spent time with Omar & Ana and our grandchildren in Southern California, ministered at Bethel Chapel (Riverside) and a Spanish congregation in Ontario, and attended the Elders & Workers Conference in Claremont (Oct. 14–16) on the Holy Spirit. The teaching was excellent (search “North American Workers Elders Conference 2025” on YouTube).
As we drove back to Washington, we were blessed to visit dear friends—Pedro & Lucy Dillon, Dan & Holly Moore—and then our daughter Grace, her husband Ben, and our grandsons. What a joy to encourage and be refreshed along the way.

Prayer & Current Focus
*Please pray for Linda. She has ongoing, unexplained pain and will undergo additional tests this week. Pray for clarity and relief.
*Please continue praying for “Proyecto Bernabé — The Barnabas Project,” as we seek the Lord’s guidance for next year.

We are now reorganizing, updating bookkeeping, and preparing a study on “One Another Relationships” for adult Sunday school at Tieton Drive Bible Chapel. Leon also recently taught from Genesis 16—reminding us to wait on the Lord and to love, seek out, and be a blessing to those, like Hagar, who are suffering unseen.

Ministry in Camiri

 Dear Praying Friends,  We are now in the middle of our second week here at the Facultad Bíblica in Camiri. I (Leon) have been teaching the students on the subject of Ministry for three hours each morning. The classes are going very well—I’m grateful for the students’ attentiveness, their thoughtful interaction during discussions, and the effort they’re putting into their assignments. It is encouraging to see them working hard and truly learning.  Some recurring themes in this course have been: 1 Discipleship (mentoring) relationships—believers walking and learning together. This dynamic is vital to a healthy ministry. 2 The life of ministry as a process—not an endless chain of victories, but a journey with ups and downs. 3 Humble and thoughtful service (diakonia)—when ministry is led by the Lord, it will be blessed. Travels July 2025

  Dear Friends, July 27, 2025 We left Ellensburg on Tuesday, July 15, and spent a couple of wonderful days in Cannon Beach, OR, with Ben, Grace, and the boys. From there, we headed to Redding, CA, to visit the Moores. I first met Danny Moore in Bolivia during a short-term missions trip back in 1983, and their friendship has been a constant encouragement ever since! The next day, we enjoyed a sweet time of fellowship with Pedro and Lucy Dillon in Cupertino, CA. Afterward, we traveled to Bethel Chapel in Riverside, where I had the opportunity to share from 2 Corinthians 12 about Paul’s thorn in the flesh—and how our “weakness” can become a canvas for displaying God’s power and grace at work in and through us. While in Riverside, we were blessed to spend time with our kids—Omar, Ana—and our precious grandchildren, Eliza and Reuben, as we finalized preparations before our red-eye flight.
