News & Prayer June-July 2025 Devotional at the end

 Dear Praying Friends,

Recently, while traveling, we had Spanish Christian worship music playing. It stirred up many memories and emotions from our years in Mexico. With tears, we recalled dearly loved friends and the many experiences we shared during that time. These reflections reminded us of a consistent theme in our journey—the Lord’s enduring faithfulness. Through every difficulty, we’ve seen His care and provision. Time and again, we've found ourselves in awe of how He has led us through trials. This beautiful theme continues in our ministry—first at camp, and now in this new season with A Barnabas Project, a ministry focused on encouragement.

We’ve been studying diligently and preparing for our upcoming ministry and family visits in Bolivia, July 26 – October 9. For three weeks in August, we’ll be in Camiri, visiting dear friends. Linda will be speaking at women’s conferences, and Leon will be teaching on Christian Ministry at Facultad Bíblica. Please pray that our hearts and words will be aligned with the Spirit, and that we’ll speak clearly, helpfully, and in a way that builds up God’s people.

We’ll be traveling extensively through the eastern and southern regions of Bolivia to reconnect with friends and family. For safety reasons, especially with the upcoming elections in August, we will not be visiting La Paz during this trip.

Answered Prayer!

In recent weeks, we’ve been able to take care of some overdue medical checkups. We’re very grateful to have finally found a good doctor here in central Washington—something we’ve been praying about for quite a while!

New Challenges

Over the first weekend of July, Linda began experiencing increasing back pain. The doctor initially suspected a kidney stone, but after a visit to the ER in Ellensburg and several tests, everything came back clear. The pain is now manageable with medication.

We did wonder if this would affect our travel plans, but at her follow-up appointment on Monday, the doctor noted the pain was decreasing. The cause remains unclear, described as “non-specific inflammation.” Linda has since eliminated many inflammation-triggering foods from her diet, and this seems to be helping. We’ve been in prayer and sought wise counsel, and as long as she continues to improve, we intend to move forward with the trip.

Please continue to pray for health, safety in travel, and fruitful ministry.

In Christ’s love,
Leon & Linda Crawford

P.S. I recently updated and rewrote a devotional from a 2008 newsletter into a lesson.
